Best in Show 2018

Here is my annual list of ten favourite exhibitions. The top ten doesn’t include the big Peter Hujar, Adrien Piper and David Wojnarowicz shows I missed all in NYC (which all sounds insanely good). But again I have to sing the praises of Michael Jackson: On The Wall for watching David Hammons, Paul McCarthy, Iza Genzkhen, Dawn Mellor, Glenn Ligon etc etc etc reinventing the the portrait.

Special mentions: A Paris hat-trick of Pavel Buchler at Galerie PCP, Simon Fujiwara at Lafayette Anticipations for his insane 4D simulator and the Picasso Rose and Blue at the Musee D’Orsay. Plus the museum worthy Sylvio Perlstein collection at Hauser and Wirth NYC.
